Joanne is a qualified Yoga Teacher, who radiates inner peace and has been a very dedicated member of the Project Balance team for many years. She is currently studying ‘still mind meditation’ (SMM), which is much like the ‘Zen’ approach of learning to stay centred in the moment, which she has enjoyed incorporating into her current teaching.
Having a background in office work and having raised four children, Joanne understands the stresses everyday life can create and the effect this has on our bodies. She has experienced in her own life that when incorporating SMM (cultivated stillness) a new way of life begins to unfold.
Joanne loves to give her clients time out from their busy schedules, where she guides them through postures, breathing techniques and meditation practice, allowing them to experience a deep sense of ease and inner peace. This has brought about remarkable results for her clients in reducing stress and improving their overall health and effectiveness in their workplaces and personal lives.
Joanne has taught Yoga to a variety of people, including ‘Yoga in Pregnancy’, ‘Mother and Baby Yoga’, ‘Yoga/Relaxation for the Intellectually Disabled’ as well as ‘Workplace Yoga’. She is able to offer a diverse range of programs, working with groups or individuals, where she tailors the session to the client's needs, ability and lifestyle.
